Vizual Records: Our Story

After working with many of the most respected labels in underground dance music, including Prescription, Classic, OM, Guidance, DiY, Junior Boys Own among many others, Joshua Iz finally felt it time to create his own imprint, hence Vizual Records.

Drawing from a myriad of influences, from heavy Jamaican dub to bleepy Detroit techno, Vizual seeks to develop new musical forms that bridge the gap between pure organic music and abstract electronic sound paintings, yet creating something danceable in the process. In addition to being an outlet for great music, Vizual Records is exploring new distribution models in the post-digital music era.

The response to Vizual so far has been incredible: djs from all over the world spinning all kinds of music have given us love such as: Mark Farina, Dj Heather, Jimpster, Q-Burns Abstract Message, Luke Solomon, DJ Sneak, Derek Plaslaiko, Fred Everything, Brett Johnson and many, many more.

2010 saw the launch of vizualrecords.com, Vizual Club - a members-only music subscription site, and loads of new releases. 2011 continued to establish the label in its own right with the release of the Joshua Iz full length debut 'It Iz What It Iz', the Vizual System mix cd, as well as Vizual events in Chicago, Miami, Barcelona and London.

Several more releases are planned for 2011 including Joshua Iz feat. Chez Damier - Sentimental Love with remixes from Derrick Carter, Pepe Bradock and Audio Soul Project.
