Here are some of the highlights:

Improved Navigation – we stripped everything down and tried to make it painfully simple using just three main menu items: Home, Music and Store. The ‘Music’ page just has our releases with players so you can listen. We moved everything related to the Vizual Store under the ‘Store’ menu including products, checkout and user accounts. Stuff you’ll need globally like product search are now in the sidebar.

Product Search – the ‘Product Search’ widget has been customized to look through product descriptions and tags which greatly improves the results. We don’t have a lot of products now but it’s always good to plan ahead. There’s no real way around having two search boxes quite yet – one for products and one for posts, but we are working on a more elegant solution. There’s more about this in the FAQ.

Feature Banner – we’re really into the red part under the navigation menu which gives us a space to push our latest release. This is only on the home page, so space is freed up on the other pages to show off our stuff.

Shopping Cart Widget – now there’s a shopping cart widget in the sidebar so you can see your cart wherever you go on the site. If you click ‘Add to Cart’ on any product, this cart is automatically updated – pretty cool, huh?

New Domain – if you didn’t notice, we are now at vizualrecords.com. Our old site at vizualized.com redirects you to here. You probably didn’t even realize it or don’t care, but now you know.

Login at Checkout – now you can login at checkout so the next time you come your info will be repopulated in the billing fields, etc.

After working with a slew of well respected labels including Classic, Prescription and Junior Boys Own, Joshua finally decided to start his own imprint. Drawing from a myriad of influences, from heavy Jamaican dub to bleepy Detroit techno, Vizual seeks to develop new musical forms that bridge the gap between pure organic music and abstract electronic sound paintings, yet creating something danceable in the process.

This first release features four new original tracks by Joshua. They are stripped down rydims, ready to play and meant to be mixed!

Joshua’s dubby basslines and melodic keys, and reggae-tinged beats are there as usual and these tracks will fit in well in any dj set.
